GEORGE TOWN, April 14 – Daniel Gooi Zi Sen and Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow officiated the Penang Athlete, Career & Education (PACE) incentive ceremony at The TOP Penang.
Which also included Para ASEAN 2025 rewards and the handover of appointment letters for the Malaysia SEA Games 2027 organising committee (Penang cluster).
A total of RM204,000 in incentives was distributed to 121 athletes under various categories including education, sports scholarships, tuition aid, and welfare support, alongside recognition for Para ASEAN gold medallists.
The Chief Minister said PACE reflects a holistic approach combining sports excellence with education, career planning, and athlete welfare.
While Penang continues strengthening its sports ecosystem under Penang2030, including 90% progress in 10 new sports facilities. He also highlighted preparations for SEA Games 2027.
Where Penang will serve as a cluster host, alongside continued support for Para ASEAN athletes through SKIMAS incentives.
Daniel Gooi emphasized athlete development, inclusivity, and long-term career pathways as key priorities to sustain Penang’s sporting competitiveness nationally and internationally.
