KUAAL LUMPUR, April 15 – Malaysia must intensify efforts to strengthen energy security as global uncertainties rise, said Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
He noted that stable and reliable energy supply has become a key concern for investors, especially amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
Adding that initiatives such as the ASEAN power grid are positive steps forward. Tengku Zafrul also stressed the need to diversify energy sources while balancing sustainability and affordability.
He highlighted rising fuel subsidy costs, which have surged significantly due to global oil prices, but said Malaysia still maintains fiscal resilience with steady economic growth and a manageable deficit.
