SHAH ALAM, April 17 — The Selangor government has unveiled a RM134 million “endurance package” aimed at shielding low-income households and small businesses from rising inflation triggered by a global energy crisis linked to geopolitical tensions.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative will be implemented through existing programmes to ease living costs, strengthen food security, and stabilise prices.

The package includes food aid, transport subsidies, vouchers, agricultural support, and assistance for micro and small enterprises, benefiting hundreds of thousands of residents.

Selangor also plans longer-term energy reforms, including diversification into solar, hydrogen, waste-to-energy and potential nuclear-related development to reduce reliance on volatile fossil fuel markets.
