PUTRAJAYA, April 19 — Transport Minister Anthony Loke has ordered a full investigation into a baggage handling breakdown at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1.
Which caused delays of up to four hours for arriving passengers. He said the disruption, although resolved the same evening, highlighted serious service failures at the country’s main aviation gateway.
Loke directed the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia to investigate and assess whether action should be taken against Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd.
He also called for an emergency review of standard operating procedures, focusing on response time, communication, and contingency planning.
Stressing that such lapses are unacceptable, Loke said accountability must be strengthened to ensure Malaysia’s ambition of maintaining world-class airport standards.
