KOTA KINABALU, April 20 — Sabah FC emerged champions of the Challenge Cup 2025/2026 after defeating Penang FC 4-3 in a dramatic sudden-death penalty shootout at Stadium Likas.
The final ended goalless after regulation and extra time, with the aggregate score tied at 1-1, forcing the match into penalties in front of 20,589 spectators.
Despite both teams creating chances, neither side managed to break the deadlock across 120 minutes, including added time and extra time periods.
Sabah FC held their composure during the shootout to secure victory and lift the trophy, capping off a tense and closely contested final.
