GEORGE TOWN, April 21 — The Sesi Dialog Bajet Rakyat Majlis Bandaraya Pulau Pinang (MBPP) 2027 was held at the Grand Ballroom, The Top KOMTAR.

Gathering community representatives and stakeholders for a full-day engagement on Gender Responsive and Participatory Budgeting (GRPB).

Organised with the Penang Women’s Development Corporation (PWDC), the programme included a 2026 budget analysis briefing by Puan Tan Bee Luan.

And a session on the 2027 dialogue framework by PWDC senior manager Haziqah Nasirah Zol Bahari. Participants then joined focused group discussions to identify key urban priorities before presenting collective proposals.

Designed as a participatory platform, the dialogue enables residents from diverse backgrounds, including women, youth and persons with disabilities.

To share ideas reflecting community needs. Discussions covered environment, social development, mobility and governance, ensuring a balanced perspective in budget planning.

MBPP said the feedback will be analysed and incorporated into the 2027 budget formulation process to strengthen transparency, accountability and inclusivity in local governance.

The initiative also aims to align municipal spending priorities with grassroots expectations and improve service delivery and urban liveability across Penang.
