KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — Fahmi Fadzil has proposed additional support for event organisers following the extension of Visit Malaysia 2026 to 2027.
He said the aid could be channelled through the Concert and Events in Malaysia Incentive (CEMI), aimed at sustaining the creative industry during the prolonged tourism campaign.
The minister also urged MyCreative Ventures to engage borrowers, including artistes and organisers, to restructure loans and ease financial pressures.
Speaking at an industry event, Fahmi highlighted the importance of ensuring continuity for the live events sector.
He also announced plans to include ALIFE Malaysia in the upcoming Orange Economy Council, chaired by Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The council aims to strengthen the creative economy, while initiatives like a ticket safety platform are expected to boost consumer confidence.
