KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 — Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad has been directed to implement immediate corrective measures following a major baggage handling disruption at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the Cabinet ordered increased manpower at key passenger areas and required weekly progress reports to the Transport Ministry after concerns raised by Anthony Loke.

The five-hour disruption was caused by a high-voltage fault at a Tenaga Nasional Berhad substation in Bukit Raja, triggering a voltage dip that affected operations at Terminal 1.

A total of 23,769 bags were processed, with 1,061 left behind and 120 reported missing, causing inconvenience to travellers.
