KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 — Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Malaysia has emerged as a global model in disaster management.
With countries such as Russia, Turkey, Myanmar and Pakistan recognising its expertise and seeking collaboration.
He highlighted the role of National Disaster Management Agency and the SMART team in international humanitarian missions.
Speaking at the Resilient Asia Exposition and Forum 2026, Zahid emphasised the growing role of artificial intelligence in improving response times and coordination.
He added that Malaysia is evolving into a regional training hub, committed to strengthening global partnerships and enhancing disaster preparedness through technology and shared expertise.
