KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 — Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur has announced a revision of entertainment licence deposit rates to support tourism and the performing arts industry.

The new rates reduce deposits for local and international performers, with local stage shows set at RM4,000 and concerts at RM10,000.

While international acts will pay RM8,000 and RM15,000 respectively, significantly lower than previous requirements.

The move aims to reduce event costs, encourage more high-quality performances, and attract global talent and tourists.

DBKL said the refundable deposits remain essential to ensure compliance with licensing conditions. The revised rates will take effect from May 1, 2026.
