SIBU, May 4 — Sarawak Water Sdn Bhd has warned of possible low water pressure in several areas following the theft of an earthing cable at the Salim Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant substation.

The incident forced Sarawak Energy Berhadto carry out a temporary electricity shutdown of one to three hours starting from 11pm to allow urgent repair works.

During the shutdown, the treatment plant will rely on generators, which may affect water pressure, especially during the affected period.

Consumers are advised to store sufficient water and use it wisely. Sarawak Water said supply should gradually return to normal once power is restored and operations stabilise.

Adding that efforts are underway to complete repairs quickly and safely.
