SHAH ALAM, May 7 — Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah has shared a reflection on politics and corruption through a quotation attributed to former Harry S. Truman.
In a statement, the Selangor ruler said the quote caught his attention and was worth sharing with the public.
The quote translated into Malay reads: “No man should be able to grow rich through politics unless he is a crook.”
The Sultan also shared a follow-up reflection stating, “If the richest people in a society are politicians, then that society has essentially been corrupted by corruption.”
The message was shared as a public reflection and reminder on integrity and governance.
