KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 – At the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Convention in Johor Bahru, Loke Siew Fook praised Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for showing courage.
Following the Cabinet’s decision to allow qualified UEC graduates access to public universities. Loke said no previous administration had resolved the long-standing issue.
And dismissed criticism from opposition leaders, calling it hypocritical. He stressed that the policy expands educational opportunities.
While maintaining the importance of Bahasa Melayu and national education standards. Meanwhile, Fahmi Fadzil said Johor BN and PH’s decision to contest all 56 state seats.
Would not affect cooperation within the federal Unity Government. Speaking at the convention attended by more than 8,000 delegates.
Fahmi said state-level political strategies were separate from federal partnerships and did not rule out future discussions between coalition leaders.
