GEORGE TOWN, May 23 — Aspen (Group) Holdings Limited has clarified that its consortium’s RM818 million bid for the Batu Kawan Industrial Park 2 (BKIP2) Request for Proposal.
Exercise represented the full guaranteed cash return payable to the Penang Development Corporation (PDC), with no proposed deductions.
Aspen said public claims suggesting the effective value was reduced to about RM500 million were inaccurate.
As items such as bridge construction, infrastructure, land tenure conversion and quarry operations were not costs to be borne by PDC.
The consortium, comprising IJM Properties, Aspen Vision All and Mettiz Capital, said it had committed to building the required bridge and proposed a second bridge for better connectivity.
Aspen also said any freehold conversion premium would be paid by the consortium if approved, while quarry operations were proposed as an additional revenue stream.
Group CEO Datuk M Murly said the clarification was not to challenge PDC’s decision, but to correct the public record.
