KUALA LUMPUR, May 26 — Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir has urged Malaysians to compare prices and make informed purchasing decisions amid global supply pressures linked to the West Asia conflict.
Akmal encouraged consumers to use the government’s PriceCatcher mobile application to check and compare prices before buying goods.
He said overall domestic food prices between May 18 and 21 remained under control, with price movements ranging from a 2 per cent decrease to a 3.6 per cent increase.
Chicken prices averaged RM9.57 per kilogramme, while beef prices declined to RM38.45 per kilogramme.
He also warned traders against profiteering as the government continues monitoring and enforcement efforts.
