GEORGE TOWN, September 23 — The Consumers’ Association of Penang has called for a transparent investigation into the Sept 1 collision involving the Teluk Bahang ferry and MV Mekar Jaya.
CAP said investigators should examine vessel navigation, communication and whether Penang Port’s Vessel Traffic Management System functioned effectively.
The group wants authorities to establish whether both vessels were being monitored and whether any warning was issued before the collision.
CAP also called for the investigation findings to be made public and those responsible for the incident to be held accountable.
