KUALA LUMPUR, September 24 — The Open University Malaysia Alumni Association (PAOUM) has condemned social media remarks by an unnamed Negeri Sembilan politician.
That it said disparaged the value and credibility of an OUM diploma. President Dr Shamsul Zuraimi Mat Shah said the remarks undermined the efforts of more than 140,000 alumni.
Who balanced education with work and family commitments. He said criticism of higher education institutions should be factual and responsible rather than based on perception or political rhetoric.
PAOUM demanded that the politician publicly explain the remarks and apologise to OUM and its alumni. The association said OUM also has about 40,000 active students.
