PUTRAJAYA, September 25 — Abdul Aziz Abdul Majid has been appointed Malaysia’s Deputy Inspector-General of Police, effective Sept 9, the Home Ministry said.
The appointment received the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong on the prime minister’s advice and recommendation of the Police Force Commission.
Born in Penaga, Penang, Abdul Aziz joined the police force in 1995 and holds a master’s degree in social sciences from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
His previous senior roles include Management Department director, Special Branch deputy director, Narcotics deputy director and Penang deputy police chief.
