SEREMBAN, September 22 — Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim disputed the removal of 10 state executive councillors by Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
Saying the existing exco remains valid. Ismail said he was neither consulted nor asked to advise on terminating their appointments.
Arguing that removing an exco member without the Menteri Besar’s advice was unconstitutional. He therefore said there was no need to submit candidates for a new line-up.
The palace earlier revoked the appointments with immediate effect, citing Article XXXVIII(5) and saying the councillors breached their oaths through actions and statements on Sept 15. (
