KUALA LUMPUR, September 22 — Police and the Prisons Department have assessed security at former prime minister Najib Razak’s residence as preparations continue for his possible transfer to house arrest.
Sentul police chief Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam said the residence has not been confirmed as the detention location because authorities have yet to receive the official order detailing the conditions.
Police assessed external security while the Prisons Department handled detention arrangements. Anuar also denied claims that barbed wire or special fencing would be installed.
Najib remains in Kajang Prison pending payment of the RM50 million fine required for his conditional clemency.
