GEORGE TOWN, September 22 — A classroom at Chung Ling High School in Ayer Itam was damaged in a fire on Monday night, with no injuries reported.
Penang Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call at 7.54pm and firefighters arrived at 8.09pm.
The fire involved a classroom measuring about 20 by 30 feet, with an estimated 20% damaged. There were no school activities underway when the fire occurred.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 8.40pm and completed operations at 9.22pm. The case has been handed to fire investigators to determine the cause.
