GEORGE TOWN, September 22 — Penang’s job market is shifting from “people looking for jobs” to “jobs looking for people” as investment drives demand for workers, Paya Terubong assemblyman Wong Hon Wai said.
More than 20 companies offered 854 positions at the MyFutureJobs Paya Terubong 2026 career fair, covering semiconductors, manufacturing, hospitality, healthcare, retail and other sectors.

Wong said Penang recorded RM17.3 billion in approved manufacturing investments during the first half of 2026, up 38% year-on-year.
He said continued industrial growth was creating more career opportunities while increasing demand for workers with suitable skills.
