GEORGE TOWN, September 25 — The federal government will allocate RM25 million under the 13th Malaysia Plan to establish the National Automation, Testing and Equipment Campus in Batu Kawan.
Penang will provide 10 acres for the campus, aimed at developing talent, technology qualification and Malaysian-made ATE solutions.
Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said federal commitments for the ATE campus and Penang Silicon Design @5km+ now total RM75 million.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow also announced a RM50 million Penang Strategic Technology Fund to help local technology companies commercialise products, develop intellectual property and scale globally.
