MELAKA, Aug 12 – A total of 81,000 of the approximately 240,000 second business group registered under the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the taxable period of three months, have not submitted statements of GST-03 respectively. The Director General of the Royal Malaysian Customs (RMC) Datuk Khazali Ahmad said that the group was given until Friday to do so in the office of GST across the country.
“I call on companies that have yet to file GST returns in order to do so within three days in order to avoid trouble. About 98 percent of the 70,000 registered companies in the first group for the taxable period once a month had submitted statements of GST-03 respectively,” Khazali told reporters after opening the Convention Innovative and Creative Circle (ICC) JKDM 16th nationally on Wednesday.
He said that it also shows GST-registered company providing a good cooperation to ensure that the tax to be collected by the government. He added that the companies that have difficulties to submit statements of GST or do not understand the process relating to the matter may be present in the office of GST JKDM nearby for help.
“We will also continue operations in GST Customs office within three days to facilitate companies to submit their GST returns,” he said. In another development, Customs will commercialize Khazali said oil filters boats known as ‘As-Min’, the creation of groups of JKDM Kumtum Batu Pahat, Johor, voted the winner in the technical side of ICC 15th last year.
He said, ‘As-Min’ work to improve the performance and lifespan of disposable oil filters are used on boats and oil filters simplify cleaning for reuse. Customs said the company will cooperate with Zull Design Autotronic to produce and promote innovation in respect of products in domestic and international markets.
