BANGKOK, Sept 3 – Thai police added man in Turkey, Davutoglu Emrah as a new suspect in two bomb attacks in Bangkok on 17 and 18 August, bringing the eight suspects so far. A police spokesman, Lieutenant-General of Police Prawuth Thavornsiri said Minburi court has issued an arrest warrant for Emrah, the husband of Suansan Wanna listed as a suspect.
The warrant of arrest was issued on Sunday. Prawuth hope the police will get more arrest warrants for those involved in the bombings. He said Emrah has faced accusations of unauthorized military equipment including gunpowder were found inside the room rent was raided by police on Saturday. He said Wanna and Emrah have come together to leave Thailand.
However, a woman who claimed to be Wanna told a local television station that she left Thailand on July 1. Prawuth described the suspects as criminals rather than as terrorists. He said they are members of a group, composed of Thai nationals and foreigners affected when the Thai authorities to take action against human trafficking activities recently. He said evidence of human trafficking is the discovery of about 260 fake passports from a raided in Nong Chok, last Saturday.
