KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 – Financial aspects of the future should have a stronger link with the real economy through the intermediation role of serving the community. Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz, said that the financial system should also account for the value added and value-based to enable it to contribute more meaningfully as an intermediary and facilities for economic activity that take advantage of the public.

“The financial system is similarly indispensable in the global economy. The expansion in many developing countries, for example, also require large amounts of funding to support infrastructure development. Financial aspects are summarized also on the agenda for improving the lives of marginalized groups in the global community,” she said at the Finance Global Ethics Forum in Edinburgh, Scotland.

“Therefore, it is important to create a regime that practiced both financial aspects and additional value based on the core principles of universal value that will result in sustainable model for positive financial global financial system. The regime is based on good production activities that do not encourage excessive debt and emphasizes transparency and strengthening the financial-customer relationship is certain to be a positive driving force in the global financial system,” she said.

According to central bank governor, was one of the basic aspects of Islamic finance that proved increasingly important in many parts of the world. In fact, measures to strengthen the supply side and demand-based value-added financial value and will contribute to the improvement of relations of the global financial system to the real economy.

In the same time, Zeti was also raised the importance of fostering a stronger leadership at the global level that allows a support role as well as break up the issues of barriers and unite the various stakeholders to work together in a more orderly environment.
