KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 23 – The ringgit closed lower again today as renewed buying interest for the greenback curbed demand for the local note, dealers said. At 5 pm, the ringgit was quoted at 4.3010/3050 against the US dollar from 4.2830/2880 on last Friday.
In the meantime, there was a dealer said in the statements from the US Federal Reserve officials on last Saturday sparked that the global concerns about the prospect of a rate increase in December. Against the other major currencies, the ringgit was traded mixed.
It rose against the Singapore dollar to 3.0295/0345 from 3.0311/0368 on Friday, strengthened against the British pound to 6.5190/5277 from 6.5363/6461 previously, and increased versus the euro to 4.5720/5766 from 4.5730/5800 last week. The ringgit, however, depreciated against the yen to 3.4931/4972 from 3.4861/4913 previously.
