KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 – The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar today, driven by buying interest, dealers said. At 9 am, the ringgit was quoted at 4.2060/2140 against the greenback from 4.2420/2570 on Tuesday. The local unit was also mostly higher against other major currencies.
It appreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.9864/9944 from yesterday’s 2.9979/9102 and strengthened against the yen to 3.4357/4425 from 3.4640/4774 previously. It fell against the British pound to 6.3418/3560 from 6.4156/4396 on Tuesday, but improved against the euro to 4.4790/4883 from 4.5211/5388 previously.
