KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15 – The High Court has granted leave to Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) to commence judicial review proceedings to set aside the notices of additional assessment by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) dated Nov 23 for the years of assessment 2013 and 2014.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, TNB said, the High Court also allowed an interim stay of all further proceedings, including the enforcement of the notices, until an inter-party hearing for the stay application was held. On Nov 27, TNB said it would appeal to IRB against the additional assessment of RM985.57 million and RM1.08 billion it was billed for the years of assessment 2013 and 2014, respectively.
