SEPANG, February 15 — Tourism Malaysia welcomed the inaugural China Eastern Airlines direct flight from Hefei to Kuala Lumpur on Feb 4, marking the first-ever air link between the two cities and a key step in strengthening Malaysia–China air connectivity in support of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

Operating three times weekly, the new route enhances access from Eastern China, complements Malaysia’s extensive network of about 730 weekly flights from 31 Chinese cities, and is expected to support continued growth in arrivals from China.

Which recorded 4.7 million visitors to Malaysia in 2025, a 25.1 per cent year-on-year increase, while reinforcing Kuala Lumpur’s role as a major regional gateway for tourism, culture, gastronomy and shopping.
