KUALA LUMPUR, February 16 —   Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in the heart of the capital on Sunday to demand the resignation of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Azam Baki over allegations linked to his shareholdings.

The rally, organised by the #TangkapAzamBaki Secretariat with backing from electoral reform group Bersih, began near the Sogo shopping complex before participants marched toward Dataran Merdeka.

Many protesters, dressed in black as a symbol of dissent, carried placards and banners urging accountability, transparency and an independent investigation into the matter. Chants calling for Azam’s suspension filled the streets as speakers addressed the crowd, stressing the importance of integrity within the country’s anti-graft body.

Police maintained a strong presence throughout the gathering, deploying hundreds of personnel to monitor the situation and ensure public order.

The rally concluded peacefully later in the day, with organisers reaffirming their commitment to continue pushing for institutional reforms and clearer answers from authorities regarding the allegations.
