KUALA LUMPUR, February 28 — Former MP Tony Pua has drawn parallels between a new police investigation into an alleged conspiracy to topple the government and his own past experience during the 1MDB controversy.
In a social media post, Pua recalled being investigated for “activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy” and barred from leaving the country over issues linked to the 1MDB scandal.
His remarks come as police probe claims involving an “influential individual” and an international media agency, reportedly connected to allegations surrounding Azam Baki and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission.
Pua urged Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to put an end to what he described as unnecessary investigations, warning against repeating past controversies.
