KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has launched the Women’s Referral, Intervention, Support, Information and Advocacy initiative.
Known as PRISMAnita, to improve access to assistance for women facing domestic and family-related issues. The programme aims to provide faster, better coordinated and victim-friendly services, including counselling, referrals and case management.
PRISMAnita will involve multiple ministries and agencies to ensure comprehensive support nationwide. The initiative will operate through State Women Development Offices and also serve as an advocacy platform on laws such as the Domestic Violence Act and Anti-Sexual Harassment Act.
Anwar said the programme reflects the government’s commitment to empowering women and strengthening family institutions in Malaysia.
