KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 – Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the government is maintaining its current fiscal policy while closely monitoring global geopolitical conflicts that could affect oil prices and Malaysia’s economy.

He noted that authorities are assessing the seriousness and duration of the conflicts before considering any additional economic measures. Akmal said Malaysia’s position as a net exporter and its resilient economy help support stability.

The government is also coordinating with agencies including the Ministry of Finance, Petronas and Bank Negara Malaysia to monitor developments. He added that rising logistics costs, shipping insurance premiums and potential impacts on imported food prices are being closely watched.
