GEORGE TOWN, March 11 – A section of Lebuh Carnarvon in George Town, beside the 1st Avenue Complex, has been temporarily closed to traffic following damage to a 900mm Indah Water Konsortium sewer pipe beneath the road.
The Penang Island City Council said the closure allows urgent repair works by contractors appointed by Indah Water Konsortium. The works began on March 10 and are expected to be completed by March 17, 2026.
Motorists are advised to plan their journeys and remain cautious when travelling through the affected area during the repair period.
