PUTRAJAYA, March 11 – The Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced an additional school holiday on March 18 for all schools nationwide in conjunction with the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration.
The ministry said the extra holiday will allow teachers, students and parents to make necessary preparations for the festive season in a more organised manner. According to the 2026 academic calendar.
Schools in Group A states — Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu — already have one additional holiday on March 19. Meanwhile, Group B states, including Penang, Selangor, Johor and Sabah, will receive two additional holidays on March 19 and March 20.
The ministry said the move reflects its commitment to the wellbeing of the education community.
