PUTRAJAYA, Oct 6 – Ther director- general of the Welfare Services Department (JKM) has ordered JKM state directors to advise nursery and care centre operators to take appropriate measures to prevent children’s exposure to the haze. The Women, Family and Community Development Ministry, in a statement today, said the measures included shutting down the nurseries or to temporarily stop outdoor activities.
“For the common good, it is proposed that any action to be taken by nurseries or care centres must first be negotiated and approved by the children’s parents or guardians. In case of temporary closure due to the haze, the directive from Section 16 (1)(a) for the order to temporary close the nurseries by the director-general of JKM would be exempted as stated in the Child Care Centre Act 1984,” according to the statement said.
