GEORGE TOWN, Nov 1 – Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has hit out at certain media and he criticised that news are slanted. Lim said they are working in a very hostile media environment. However, he said the people are losing trust in the media which they are not ignorant and know which media news are slanted and which media are not.
“I make no apologies for stating this,” Lim commented when he was asked about certain media which reported that factories are closing down in Penang although the statistics and press briefing had been provided by investPenang which proved that this not the case.
“I don’t know to laugh or otherwise. Newspapers can put on frontpage news which are not true. Meanwhile, it is either not published or been given a very tiny space when we reply. We will be completely ignored when we talked about positive aspects of Penang. It will also be on frontpage in certain media when any party criticised Penang,” he added.
