KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 3 – Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman Datuk Hasan Arifin said it is up to Tony Pua to decide if he wants to debate with the president and executive chairman of 1Malaysia Development Berhad Group Arul Kanda Kandasamy.
He said at brief media conference at Parliament’s lobby on Monday that it is up to Tony Pua whether he wants to debate or not. That is all I want to say. Meanwhile, Arul Kanda also said on last Saturday that he was ready for the debate without any conditions. Radio-Television Malaysia had said that it would broadcast the debate “live”.
On Thursday, Arul Kanda had said in a statement that he was ready to debate Pua in a live television telecast on condition the DAP Member of Parliament resign from his post as a committee member of the PAC. Arul Kanda was responding to a challenge from Pua on his blog that they both participate in a live forum, with Pua fielding the questions. Arul Kanda later dropped the condition.
