TAWAU, Jan 18 – The Education Ministry would not consider any request for funds from schools that failed to submit their respective monthly financial expenditure report. Education deputy minister Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching said the requirement for schools to submit the report, to qualify them for funds the following year, was enforced last year.

“A few schools have been found to ignore the order and they will not be getting any funds,” she said at the laying of the foundation stone to mark the construction of the school hall for SJK(C) Kung Ming, here today. Meanwhile, Yap urged the private sector, corporations and parents to help provide schools with better facilities for the wellbeing of the students. “Everyone has a role to play in helping the schools through contributions so that the latter would not have to depend solely on the government,” she said.
