George Town, 24 March – Penang Global Tourism recently organized a photography contest via its Facebook in conjunction with the Penang Hot Air Balloon Fiesta held during Chinese New Year. The photography contest was open to Malaysians aged 18 years and above and ran from 15 to 28 Feb 2015. Contestants were asked to submit up to five photos with captions taken during the 2-day hot air balloon event as well as the test flight that happened on 1-5 Feb 2015.
Out of 977 entries, three emerged victorious with 413, 406 and 312 votes respectively. Congratulations to Lim Kok Hooi, 1’t prize winner of a return flight ticket to Chiang Mai, Stephen Ng Jun Zhi,2nd prize winner of a return flight ticket to Bangkok and Ch’ng Poh Lay, 3’d prize winner of an exclusive travel luggage, all courtesy of Thai Airways international.
Photographs that were submitted for the contest were mainly of the colourful hot air balloons on display and the varied activities that took place during the event at Padang Polo. Winners were then selected based on the most genuine votes. All entries went through a detailed authentication process before the three winners were determined.
