GEORGETOWN, March 31 – Dato Patahiyah would like to take this opportunity to congratulate to Mr. Secretary, members of the council and the Department Heads on the declaration of the Council to the City Council of Penang. Today is also a day of historic enough that I was appointed as the mayor and his message the first time I was appointed and Council declared the City Council of Penang. Recognition that has been long-awaited by all members of the council and the Head of Department has already become a reality and this means that we will be dealing with the challenges and expectations are higher and more powerful than the people of Penang.
The fact that must be accepted now is that we are in an era status, and this opened new and greater challenges with the responsibilities of the more challenging as a local authority. We have already worked with the mission and vision of excellence in service delivery that is capable of creating a prosperous city.
With this phenomenon, Penang City Council will be faced with many challenges to meet the expectations of taxpayers, particularly in terms of infrastructural facilities, coordinate sustainable development, develop the image of identity, as well as improve the quality of economic dynamism and competitiveness in line with City status.
We can not deny that this achievement is a result and a high commitment was highlighted by the staff of the City Council of Penang so as to elevate the status of the Penang Municipal Council of Penang City Council. Therefore, we must continue to carry out its duties and responsibilities more effectively and deliver services efficiently and accurately lilhususnya in improving the quality of service and management that emphasizes “outcome based” administratton
It is the responsibilities of the City Council to realize Penang Penang State Government is very concerned about the delivery system services especially in terms of safety, cleanliness, greenness and health. It is time for us together to change or accept a paradigm shift in which regulations or requirements that are not suitable modified and involving people in managing administrative poise, creative and innovative.
Let us work together to find a new mechanism to avoid it becoming a landmark of the City Council of Penang. With these words I once again thank you, and congratulations to all members of the council and the Department Heads on our achievements, may be what is planned will continue to be true.
