JAKARTA, Aug 17 – The dream of the former world number one player Datuk Lee Chong Wei to win the World Badminton Championships 2015 were dashed when he is losing to defending the champion Chen Long of China in Senayan here Sunday. If during the Senayan become rink auspicious for Chong Wei who won five Indonesian Open title, this time he witnessed soaring dream world title as good as dead berkubur 14-21, 17-21 in a period of 65 minutes.
This may be the last appearance Chong Wei, 33, at the World Championships because it is impossible to act in the next edition in 2017 because it was not contested in the Olympics, which take place next year. “I will not despair, I will be accompanied by some of the championship again this year and the focus now is to deserve to Sports Olympics next year and I will try to do something if the opportunity to meet Chen Long again,” he said. Besides that, this is the fifth major tournament final in five years since 2011 for Chong Wei who witnessed it fell in the hands of the Chinese players in the record.
For the World Championships in 2011 and 2013, he lost to Lin Dan, as well as at the 2012 Olympics final, while Chen Long into the barrier at the 2014 World Championships and this year. As well as the 2014 edition medal withdrawn after Chong Wei failed doping test that saw it suspended eight months.
“Chong Wei has done its best and even tried to put pressure on Chen Long in the second set, his opponent has a strong spirit. Now we have to find ways to improve the tactics and it is not a simple matter, I apologize for this defeat,” said the Coach Harrison.

Meanwhile, Carolina Marin of Spain successfully defended the women’s singles title after beating India, Saina Nehwal 21-16, 21-19.
