PASIR MAS, Aug 29 – Kelantan UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed condemned the illegal rally Bersih 4 in the capital today and tomorrow because it could jeopardize harmony and peace in the country. He described the organizers of the rally were “rude” for choosing the date and the same place in 2015 the National Day celebrations at Dataran Merdeka and the surrounding area.
“He chose the date and the location we want to celebrate the eve of independence, even if they are offered elsewhere but they continue their plans,” he told reporters after opening the Umno delegates Pasir Mas here Saturday. Police on Tuesday to declare Bersih an unlawful assembly 4 for failing to comply with the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012.
However, the organizers of the rally still want to continue with the program that is not only against the orders of the authorities which set by the government, even thought it also been disrupt preparations to celebrate the National Day 2015 at Dataran Merdeka on Monday.
“The people must unite to defend national security because if chaos occurs. It will take a long time to restore peace in the country. Meanwhile, Malaysia was a democratic country and have a specific channel for all parties expressed the view without having to do anything that could compromise security,” said Mustapa, who is also the Minister of International Trade and Industry.
