SUNGAI SIPUT, Aug 30 – The Barisan Nasional (BN) should solve their internal problems to strengthen the coalition of the General Election (GE) 14, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi who is also Umno vice-president said when opening the Umno division delegates meeting Strabane on Sunday. He said the move was necessary to ensure BN win big in the coming election.
“The elections are not far from now, not more than two years and five months, closed literate elections we will face. So I ask MB (Chief Minister) and Chairman of BN in the states and the chairman seat this includes the Oyo, do not just go areas during the elections, turned jenguk men who will be the engine to determine the BN win, do not be a leader seasonal, “he said.
Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, who is also chairman of Perak UMNO and UMNO division chief Datuk Zolkafly Aaron Strabane who is also the State Assemblyman for the Stars. Ahmad Zahid also reminded the parties that they are not contesting candidates in an area, shall assist the candidate to ensure victory for the coalition.
“In order to ensure victory for the BN, BN component parties must set in motion the machinery for cooperation and collaboration is to be interpreted by all. If the former, the party will choose a winnable candidate ‘(candidate could win) to be placed in an area, now the party must choose’ likable candidate ‘(candidate favored) that can serve the local community,” he said. Ahmad Zahid also promised to fulfill all the requests for projects in Strabane if BN regain the parliamentary seats in the region.
