KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 – Ten non-governmental organisations (NGOs) held a peaceful gathering here on Sunday to urge the Selangor government to fulfil its promise to build affordable houses for people in the state. Pertubuhan Nadi Sihat chairman Datuk Ismail Kijo said the Selangor government had promised during the 13th General Election to build affordable homes.

“The state government wanted to build affordable homes in its manifestos in 2008 and 2013, but until Sunday (Oct 18) we have not seen the houses being built. This is what we want to highlight because it is something the state government must do, but have not done so. I hope the people will rise and bring up the matter with the state government,” said  Ismail after a ‘Save Selangor’ gathering in the compound of the Ampang UMNO division building.
