PETALING JAYA, Oct 21 – Schools term was set on Jan 4 next year to reopen the school in all states except Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu due to they will open a day earlier. According to the Education Ministry website, there will be 215 school days and 71 holidays. School heads can apply for four days of “cuti peristiwa (occasional holiday)” while they need not be replaced.
Meanwhile, School heads can also apply for “cuti ganti (replacement holiday)”, which is subject to approval by the state education department. Besides that, the year-end break will start on Nov 26 next year, except in Johor, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, where the holidays start a day earlier. The School Calendar 2016 as below:
