GEORGE TOWN, Nov 8 – The BP Healthcare Group’s diagnostic centre was upgraded to a specialist centre to cater for the prosperous business community in Penang here on Saturday. Its senior vice president, Lovy Beh Yen Shan said BP had a collaboration with Institut Jantung Negara, whereby, their cardiologists were stationed at BP Specialist Centre for consultation and referral purposes.
“With bigger space, we have increased the facilities, products and services to cater for our Penang folks plus BP is putting to action by helping to perform the screening which will then produce a scorecard,” she said at the opening of BP Specialist Centre Penang by state Health and Rural Development, Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman Dr Afif Bahardin.
“From there, the customer can be coached by our team of healthcare professionals like our doctors, pharmacist and nutritionists to help them improve their scoring. Meanwhile, BP has launched a new screening package, the BP obesity screening, as Malaysia is ranked sixth in the Asia Pacific region for obesity and tops the list in South-East Asia for both obesity and diabetes,” she said.
Lovy said BP also had launched two e-commerce websites; bphealthcare.com and lovypharmacy.com, and these e-commerce were listed on Multimedia Development Corporation’s (MDEC) top five online websites in Malaysia. She also added that the customers can purchase health screening packages online and get their pharmacy products to be delivered to their doorstep.
She also announced the newly launched mobile application, Doctor2U, which provides doctor house call service to the doorstep in 60 minutes in Klang Valley area and soon in Penang. The Group organised a public awareness event themed ‘Love Our Lives’ (LOL) bazaar for the third time, as part of BP’s corporate social responsibility to increase health awareness among the communities.
