KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 11 – A landslide occurred on the Karak Highway with blocking all lanes in both directions on the highway due to heavy rains this evening and reportedly trapped an unknown number of cars, The Star reported on its website here today.
The head of traffic from the STAR Radio Media Group Priscilla Patrick said the landslide took place at KM52.2 at Bukit Tinggi with blocking off all lanes in both directions. According to the article, he said the traffic along the highway was now at a standstill while causing a 3km-tailback headed to Kuala Lumpur and 1km crawl heading towards Bentong direction.
“In the meantime, I had also been just spoke to officials; there are some cars that are buried in this landslide, so it’s not looking good. In additional, it’s not going to clear up till midnight, I think it was going to go on untill morning,” Patrick was quoted as saying in the report.
