GEORGE TOWN, Nov 29 – A group of 20 youths held a brief demonstration against Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng over the entrance of Hotel Equatorial here this morning before the 2015 Penang State Ordinary Convention. They are calling Lim to step down and return to his former base of Malacca and hand over the chief ministership to senior executive councillor Chow Kon Yeow. Protestors held anti-Lim and pro-Chow placards and banners in Malay, English and Mandarin.
Among the placards, banners and a A4 flyer here today were those that read: “Children of Penang Support Chow Kon Yeow as Penang Chief Minister”, “Chow Kon Yeow Chief Minister of Penang We Want You”, “Lim Guan Eng go back to Malacca” and “LIM GUAN ENG. Do you still remember, 8 Mar 08, Red Rock Hotel Penang, you robbed someones chief ministership. It’s okay and we made an agreement, but you betrayed the agreement. The rally began at about 9am and dispersed peacefully after 5 minutes.
